Why Father?
Ephesians 3:14

Look at our passage with me. “For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom the whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name.”  The age old Apostles Creed declares that it believes in “God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.” This creed which is describing God as Father probably means the Father of all people.  The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and indeed the Father and Creator of the universe.

But now what says the scripture?  Why Father?  And not mother or brother or something else?  We may go to the Holy Scriptures for our answers.  Let us consider Malachi 2:10 for instance.  It says, “Have we not all one father?  Has not one God created us?”  God is presented in Trinitarian terms in scripture.  He is said to be Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  However, the fact that God is the Father of all creation does not assure the salvation of all men or give them eternal life.
