The Perfect Mate

             I read somewhere about a panel of women that debated on who they thought was the perfect man.  You’d have thought it might be a famous actor or wealthy tycoon.  But the final conclusion of this panel was that the perfect man was actually….MR.POTATO HEAD.  Yeah….their reasoning was this:  He’s tan.  He’s cute.  He knows the importance of accessorizing.  And if he looks at another girl, you can rearrange his face!

            Well, last week we covered the subject of Relationship’s Secret Ingredient taken from this same book, just over one chapter and verse 21. “Be subject to one another, our of reverence to Christ.”  This week we are going to cover something more important than finding the perfect mate.  Many people talk about that and daydream about the perfect “soul mate” or the perfect guy or gal or finding the perfect mate.  Some people have told me that while they were dating and during their engagement, they were convinced that this person was THE perfect mate.  But after they were married they felt this person was the perfect disaster! 

            However, concerning the subject of the Perfect Mate, is there anything more important than finding the right person?  I think there is.  I believe being the right person is more important!  In fact, as far as God is concerned, it’s more important that YOU be the perfect mate than for you to find the perfect mate.
