The Marks of Jesus I have been reading the book of Galatians for many years now. I began to see its importance back in Bible College days when I took a class on Romans and Galatians. But it wasn’t until recently that I read this passage we are studying today and discovered that it troubled me. I will explain this in a moment. At the onset I began to rehearse in my mind all that Paul probably was including in this one lone statement. Beginning at his conversion we see the Apostle being marked as an Apostle and child of God. Paul endured quite a bit during his ministry years as we shall see. The occasion for the writing of the book of Galatians was due to the Christians there in that church getting wrapped up in the affairs of the world again. They were getting hung up on the physical, materialistic aspects of the world. There was a faction within the church that began teaching that one must not only believe in Jesus, but one must also submit again to the Law of Moses in order to find acceptance before God. Paul, evidently, got wind of this rouse and fired off a letter to the believers there in the church at Galatia.
