Save, Now, We Pray

Matthew 21:11

What a day that must have been.  The day when Jesus publicly offered himself to the city riding in on that donkey’s colt.  It has been said that was an offering of himself as the Messiah.  A token of kingly advance.  A day when the crowds that were with him hailed him as king.  As they approached the city, others may have joined in, but many of the religious order of the day kept silent.  Frowning at such a boisterous display of religious fervor.

But Jesus was the one.  Zechariah prophesied this in chapter 9 verse 9 of his book where he said, “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!  Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!  Lo, your king come to you; triumphant and victorious is he, humble and riding on a donkey, on a cold the foal of a donkey.”  What a day and what a fulfillment of God’s word!
