Lois and Eunice:
Women Who Loved God “When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.” II Timothy 1:5. As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we pay tribute to our mothers. But most importantly we thank god for mothers who love God. I am thankful today for a mother who love me enough to teach me about the Lord and who took me to church even when I laid in bed kicking and screaming that I didn’t want to go to church that day. I thank god today for Christian mothers. I am thinking this morning of two Christian mothers. Two moms who according to the world view were relatively unimportant, but in God’s eyes just the opposite. A team whose names cannot be separated today. A mother and daughter team whose sincere faith and view of the Holy Scriptures made a lasting impact on one child in particular. A mother and a grandmother who are forever memorialized in God’s word. Lois and Eunice.
