Can our eyes penetrate the curtain which death allows to fall ? Is there any answer to the poignant question which lies within the heart of every human being: is there life after death? In the Old Testament we find a character who seemingly had it all according to the world's standard. He had health, power, position, money and family. However in one fell swoop, he lost it all. He lost all of his possessions, every one of his children were killed in a tornado, he was stricken with poor health and his wife threatened to leave him and encouraged him to just curse God and die. He sat stricken with boils from the sole of his feet to the top of his head when his so called friends began to visit it him and offered their opinions as to why all of this had taken place. They told him it was a result of his sin. God was getting even. He needed to repent. And there forsaken by all he sat in a heap of ashes scraping his horrible wounds.
