Doing Business With God We have it so easy as Christians
today.
We do not really know what it is like to be persecuted
for our religious beliefs, but I fear that if America continues on its crash
course it has chosen, we may know what it is like.
The land of the free and the home of the brave
is turning into a cesspool of crime and immorality. We have our cozy little homes,
plenty to eat, clothes to wear and we don’t do anything, we don’t even lift
as much as a little finger to help someone escape damnation in the Lake of
Fire.
Doing business with God is a life of self-denial.
Jesus Himself said, “If any man would come
after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”1 We don’t deny ourselves.
‘God owes it to me,’ we exclaim!
We don’t really deny ourselves.
Oh, we rationalize, we go without that new TV
or coat or car.
Maybe it’s only that cake or pepsi at lunch
that we deny ourselves in order to save the money to purchase what we really
think is high on our priority list.
I have noticed some people destitute on welfare
and food stamps always have the money for cigarettes and liquor.
