By Way of Reminder

          Here it is another Memorial Day weekend.  A time for people to take a long weekend and to remember those who have gone on before.  Memorial Day is a time when we experience a double emotional feeling when we get right down to it.  On the one hand we experience the grief and sense of loss as we remember our loved ones who have died.  But on the other hand we recall the precious memories and the good things we experienced with them before their death.  So Memorial Day can be both painful and joyful all at the same time.

In our passage before us this morning, we discover the Apostle Peter reminding his audience about the fact that they may well know the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and have established themselves in the faith, but it is vitally important that they be reminded of godly things from time to time.
