Body Life In Jesus
Friends, 2008 is here!
What once was our future is not the present.
What are you going to be and do for Christ
today?
I am not talking about what you are going to be or do
for Him this year; I am speaking about right now, today!
In one of the fly-leaves of an old Bible, there was
this saying that had been scribbled almost 40 years ago.
It reads, “Only one life and soon will pass.
Only what’s done for Christ will last.”
That is so true.
Thirty-eight years ago, as a twenty-one year
old, the scribbler thought he had the world by its tail and that he would
never let age catch up with him.
But at fifty-nine, he has come to realize how quickly
those years come and go.
When you lay to rest a parent who is in their
90s, you know that they have had a long life, but to the children, it seems
to go by so quickly.
I have known many people during my lifetime that I
have had the privilege to get to know, and then they pass away; gone from
this life.
But many of them have had impacts not only on a
small circle of individuals, but upon generations.
Christians of the past have impacted our generation.
They have prayed, taken risks, worked hard,
witnessed, and even died for the faith.
Quite honestly, we may not have had the
opportunity to have heard the gospel, had it not been for those faithful
believers of the past.
