A Matter of the Heart

            As I was thinking and praying about what to preach on today, I was touched by the strategy of the gospel message.  After our time together last week, I began to realize that we must begin by centering our thoughts on what God wants us to do both as a church body and as individuals.  Two things came to light as I read about God’s plan for us.  One was the Matter of the Heart.  Proverbs 4:23 says, “Keep your heart with all vigilance; for from it flow the springs of life.”  Over in chapter 23 and verse 7 it says, “as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he…”  Our journey as a believer begins with our heart.  Was it not Paul who wrote, “That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved? For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  Romans 10:9-10.
